Bruce Mazer's research focuses on a combination of human studies and animal modeling to determine new ways of changing the immune response to allergens, and to help to naturally shape immune tolerance in individuals with allergies and asthma. Asthma and food allergies affect almost 20% of children in North America. These diseases are important causes of morbidity and mortality, and have a huge economic and social impact.
